My CEO doesn’t respect me… so I don’t respect him either.

My father came from a long line of entrepreneurs and decided to start his own business after he should have retired. Being the dutiful child, I helped him wherever I could, wearing multiple hats, worked long hours (including weekends and holidays) while he gave everyone else larger salaries, more authority, and even gave them the permission to micromanage me as well as threaten to fire me if I didn't measure up. The worst part is he pays me the absolute least, and he still thinks he is overpaying me even though no one would do my job at the amount he pays me. The worst part is he pays me the absolute least, and he still thinks he is overpaying me even though no one would do my job at the amount he pays me.

Everyone asks me if I am going to be the successor to my father, but he would rather bankrupt the company or give it to someone instead of giving my any control over anything which is why he put me in charge of IT where my job is to fix everyone's broken computers and manufacturing where I have to spend 8-10 hours a day building products that we sell.

I have recently decided that if he expects me to be at the office that long, I will find a room and stay in there doing my own work (aka i will be overemployed). I will do the absolute minimum that is needed to ensure they get orders shipped and refuse to do anything where I need to interface with anyone. When he asks me to refer people, I give him mediocre people who only listen to me.

I could have helped him sell this company years ago, but he was too stubborn to accept my help so now he has to work two jobs to ensure the company stays afloat and is in debt to everyone.

I plan to officially resign in the next few months to focus on my own profitable business and will refuse to help him anymore because he doesn't understand that family comes first.
