I am in a position that I get the minimum state salary and commission based off membership sales. My company is semi-stable, but it's not flushed with cash. They see me making too much in commission and are looking to lower my commission. My industry is cooling off, and my prospects are decreasing exponentially over the last month.
I'm obviously going to try to get an increase in my base and guarantee as much guaranteed money as I can, but I have a feeling this is going to be a slash and burn with very little negotiating.
If I were the owners, I would have adjusted my pay awhile ago. It's pretty high.
Any advice? This stings me at the moment.
