My company announced they’re laying off my entire team by the end of April and they keep giving us training to do keep things up and running while they’re laying off other teams.

I work for a famous media conglomerate and they’ve been playing mind games since October last year when they merged with another company. They laid off some people immediately at the time and kept giving our team hopes to maybe keep our jobs as longs as we kept doing all the trainings and boot camps they made us do. I have a fully remote contract and they made me go into the office for 2 weeks for a training with the promise to give me a position at the new formed organization. I had to study for a test in the end which I passed with 100% score. In the end they announced that they’ll be firing everyone anyway and didn’t even give us the chance to apply internally to new positions. They’re still having us do a lot more work than we were hired for, without any raise and knowing we’ll be laid off very soon and I don’t even have the right to a severance package according to them because I have been there for a little over a year. I feel like a disposable piece of trash.
