My company is crumbling and not telling people

On Thursday night my company laid off 100 people on a 130 member team. Basically everyone who wasn’t middle management or higher. Friday I finished a project 200 hours before the schedule. Tonight, Sunday, I was told they’re going to make me use my pto and sick time, so I’m being paid my full wage. But under my state law, if I’m being made redundant, I would get that in a lump sum and be on unemployment. So basically my job no longer exists but I can’t file for unemployment yet. Luckily I have a final interview at another company on Wednesday, because I’d heard rumors that this was coming. I’m not really looking for solutions, just venting. My only advice for everyone is, always keep your options open. These business owners/share holders don’t give a fuck about you. So don’t feel any kind of loyalty to them. I could…

I could have milked this project for another five weeks. Instead I made them an amazing profit margin and I’m getting fucked over other than not losing my insurance benefits just yet.
