My company just acquired a competitor and its moving our HQ

Basically what the title says. My company just acquired a competitor and we were told on Friday that our HQ location is changing to where the competitor’s HQ is. I feel as if we just “lost” the merger, I was definitely not expecting us to move HQ location being the acquiring company. My main question is, is this something normal? Does this mean that management values the competitor’s talent more than its own?
