Just wanted to share because I thought this sub would appreciate how absolutely fucking ridiculous this is. My department is laying off some of us next week, including myself. But thank god they’re giving us one last “department social event.” Really makes me feel better about losing everything. You can’t pay my salary, but thanks for the turkey sandwich as a goodbye?
Edit: none of us are supposed to know about the layoffs, we are supposed to be blindsided by HR. I only know because I was warned. We do not know this is a “goodbye”.
