So 2 months ago my boss at a brewery (of 10 months) told me I would be fired if I didn’t pick up an extra shift per week on a day I work my other job. So I said I’ll take being fired. He asked me not to leave 2 weeks later.
Two weeks ago I had this gnarly stomach flu and respectfully offered to stay home to not get my coworkers sick. That’s what they wanted me to do.
Last week, my manger (best friends with the owner) and the owner, informed me that the manager had the stomach flu and asked me to close the bar. I agreed and asked if they needed anything else. I later found out from a coworker that he was not sick, but just didn’t want to drive in the snow.
The following day, we had an ice storm that shut down the whole city. My boss’s “caring text” to me is below.
He also has a tendency to make us stay open an hour or two after agreed business hours whenever he feels it’s necessary. Below is his most recent decision.
Do I quit? Or make their lives hell? Kidding…. But fr. Advice welcome.
