I've worked for a small company for two years.
Two weeks ago I had a miscarriage and was out of work for a week. While I was out of work and in the hospital my employer called me several times, after the 4th or 5th call I answered, she told me she called to tell me how much pressure I was putting in my colleagues and that it was important that I know how my being out was stressing out everyone.
After that call I was very upset, understandably and when I got back to work I asked to talk to her in private. When we got into the meeting she said she wanted to talk to me anyway and told me I was being demoted from a leadership position to underneath a colleague who has been at the company for less than 6 months. I handed in my notice right there.
Now she is refusing to pay me for my last few shifts and is not going to pay me for the holidays I'm due, saying that I've been over paid (I haven't been) and that she will write it off as a kindness to me.
I've contacted the workplace relations advisory board and am waiting on their response.
Sorry about the long post but just needed to rant. Why are people like this???
