I’m self employed and work on new build sites for a sub contractor company. I’ve worked for the same firm for about 3/4 years now and every 6 months the lady who sorts booking in phones us and threatens us with we won’t be paid if we don’t get this public liability insurance. I always palm her off and just don’t do it. But she is being persistent this time. All the lads have purchased it but I don’t won’t too as we’re never working with any public. So don’t see the point.
Anyway I’m just wondering is it a legal requirement. I’ve read online that is isn’t. And also can this HR lady keep threading me with no payment of I don’t get it.
