I quit yesterday after months of the boss being extremely disrespectful. Then she tried to say I was abandoning my work. So once I got home I emailed her, someone from HR, and texted a screenshot of it to everyone I worked with. It basically said:
“I Resign my position with Security Company
Among the reasons for this were
Our -Boss- did not supervise it was up to -Co-worker 1- to do her job for her After months we never even met her until last week
I was to be reprimanded this Tuesday for having to leave the site due to a family emergency. A life-threatening one, in fact, so nothing to be taken lightly
I was required to remove stickers I had on my hard hat, according to her because it has to be completely yellow”. I find this strange when multiple people on site have black and white hard hats, many of them with band stickers. However, mine were LGBT+ stickers
-Boss's- attitude towards me and my coworkers was to talk down to us like we were lesser Multiple of them also complained of this
The final straw was today when I came to work and I was told by her over the phone I was required to work the weekend whether I agreed to it or not. I refused to and quit at approx 3:55 PM. It is not my responsibility to work the weekend, nor is it -co-worker 1 or 2's-. We were not hired for this, we were hired for the weekdays. I then heard her ask -co-worker 1- if I was leaving to which he replied, “Yes” She then lied to him stating that I am abandoning my post which is termination Maybe she does not understand that you can't fire an employee that isn't an employee, as I was no longer working there after I stated every clearly multiple time “I quit.” So I rejoined the conversation to reiterate that and then left the job site.”
After I sent it out I got an automatic email back from my ex-boss saying that she's out of the office for a few days, so only the HR guy has the email right now.
Another ex-employee who had just left without actually saying she quit and had been ignoring everyone trying to call her immediately texted me back congratulating me which I thought was pretty funny.
Also, someone asked what the stickers on my hat were. They were just random rainbow hearts and what-not.
