My first no call no show

I did my first no call no show for the very first time unintendedly. just started a new job and its chaotic. My store manager that hired me quit 1 week after I started, funny enough to go work where I quit. so the second up in line in rank was the assistant store manager and so he picked up the responsibility of managing all the schedules now. since I started I always got Sunday off and a month ago I requested if I can get Saturday off, so I can have a weekend off. I always have Sunday off + Requesting Saturday off = WEEKEND OFF!!! then my assistant manager got married and took this whole past week off but updated the schedule before he left.

The week schedule ENDS on a SATURDAY, and Sunday starts a new week. when I saw Saturday off, I was sure I had Sunday off like usual and my last work day was Friday. Friday I see the district manager came in for only the last 10 minuets of my shift, I didn't think much of it and I wasn't feeling well and mentioned it through out my shift too so all I wanted to do was go home cause it got worse at the end of the day. felt better and went through my weekend plans and enjoyed it

come back to work Monday and they are telling me I missed my Sunday shift. LONG STORY short, the District manager posted the new schedule in the LAST 10 minutes of my shift and no one mentioned it was posted. on top of that, some people leave sooner than when he posted it by 30 minutes and even an hour depending what time you clocked in.

Is it really My fault for not checking? Them waiting at the end of the day to update the schedule on a Friday 2 days before the next work week? Should I have to constantly looking out for the schedule especially the last TEN MINUTES of my shift? I kept busy till the end and left. finally what if I got a shift that I clocked in sooner and left sooner, I would have never seen the new schedule. I assumed I had it off because I always got Sunday off, until the district manage who never makes our schedule and doesn't know how OUR store operates, made it for the first time because

  1. we don't have a manager
  2. the assistant store manager was out for a week after getting married so he couldn't update the schedule

which results in everything getting messy since I got there. sometimes the schedule isn't even updated till SATURDAY a day before Sunday, the start of a new work week. some people have the luxury of the same schedule every week, I don't have that luxury. I'm very young compared, lots are older men there and they are all friends with each other and come on their days off to work just to hang out in the back. not me, my days of are MINE and I'm not coming in to check the schedule on MY personal time, on my day off.
