My full-time job sabotaged my ability to work my 2nd job

I work a 9a-5p job at a catering company. My hourly wage should come out to about $45,760 annually, but due to taxes and insurance, my take-home pay is more like $33k in a big city, so I'm living hand to mouth. I successfully secured a part-time second job, one I really liked that suited my values and was aligned with the kind of social group that I best fit into. It doesn't offer any extra benefits, but that was ok because I have my nine to five. Well, I informed my full time boss about the new job (I wanted to coordinate my imminent schedule) and received a blunt talking to about prioritizing my schedule with the full time place, and they basically refused to coordinate my schedule with the new job, nullifying it.
