I work for a multi-million dollar sports stadium, technically I work for a company that subcontracts to the sports stadium and hires laborers I barely make 20 cents more than minimum wage an hour which after union dues are paid I end up making less than minimum wage an hour. It's also less than what they told me I'd get paid in the interview by 50 cents an hour.
I've worked there 3 weeks and I'm still looking for a better job but there's not much in my area that work for me with my disabled child's appointments and my full-time School. I was supposed to get paid Friday I did not get paid though. I log into the app where I've been clocking in and clocking out and somebody in HR refused all of my clock ins and clock outs for that week. I immediately called HR and was told there's only one person who can fix it I emailed her at this point because I wanted it documented in writing and not just a phone conversation as I've been through this with another job before and had to get the labor board involved.
She stopped emailing me back on Friday and is not responding to emails at all at this point. I still have not gotten my pay and they still have not fixed my time card today Tuesday. I'm supposed to get paid this Friday and I went and I looked and they also refused all of my clock ins and clock outs for last week's work so I won't be getting a paycheck this Friday either. I called HR again today and again they told me I need to only contact this one person and she's the only person who can do anything. I had already called her this morning before I called hr, and I never got a response I emailed her never got a response.
HR has emailed and called her today supposedly and she hasn't responded to them and she also has not responded to me. Because they've refused my clock-ins and clock out some of them are even missing and HR can't see anything on there and so they don't even show where the time cards punch ins and punch outs have been refused and with some of the missing I don't have black and white showing that I clocked in and clocked out. I'm supposed to work today and I told HR I don't really feel comfortable going in if I'm not getting paid for the work that I've done and HR said “oh no don't do that you need to go in because then maybe you can talk to the HR lead in person and get this straightened out!”
Like WTF, I'm just supposed to keep working for free? I'm actually a hired on paid employee, this stadium uses volunteers for most of the work from local rehab facilities and churches. But I didn't sign up to be a volunteer at all, I was hired in to be paid for my work as little pay as they give me I'm still supposed to get paid. But yeah the stadium uses about 70% volunteers to run the food stands and do the cleaning there's only about 30% of us that are actually hired on contract workers who are paid and they can't even pay us LMFAO.
