My team 40 people team is being cut in half and that’s all we know.

I can’t say much because we all sign NDA. Sorry for the long text. (First post, sorry about any mistakes) Last month they said they are cutting the team in half. No why or how or when or who or even how they are going to decide who stays and who doesn’t. We are a 40 people team. They said they will try their best to relocate within the company, but in the past they’ve done that to other teams and when the try-out month end they tell you “ooooh, you were a not a good fit, I’m so sorry” so they can fire you without breaking the law. And now we’re a having meetings about our metrics, where they nitpick reasons to put the team down when we have one of the best metrics. (Even after the job insecurity vibes) And the managers are acting like we are wrong…

They said they will try their best to relocate within the company, but in the past they’ve done that to other teams and when the try-out month end they tell you “ooooh, you were a not a good fit, I’m so sorry” so they can fire you without breaking the law.

And the managers are acting like we are wrong to be worried and stressed and “this is not an excuse for poor performance”. My blood just boils honestly.

I am just so angry, the team was very close and united specially for 40 people! Now everyone is stressed because we don’t know when heads will start rolling over. They are fighting for the dumbest reasons just because they are stressed.

I am just so angry, the team has been together for nearly three years. Three years of one the best results in the company. We got prizes and parties to celebrate our results.

I never once believed that the company would worry about us in any way. But the least was to be transparent so we could prepare. Three years of great results and compliments is not enough to deserve the smallest bit of respect enough so they’ll be transparent with you about YOUR future.
