So I work in Japan and the bonus is a built-in part of the salary – often worth a third of your entire annual pay – but your workplace can hang it over your head (‘if we don’t make enough money this year, who knows…’). My work tried to cut my bonus in half this morning and I walked out. Wouldn’t post it on antiwork except my amazing boss, who tried his best to fight on my behalf, told me he’d have done the same in my position and to make sure I post my moment of glory on here.
