Need help finding laws

I am an hourly employee and I worked a 10 hour shift yesterday but I did not receive a break. (We were understaffed and I didn’t get a chance. That is not quite the point though.) I got an email this morning that my time card was edited (by the GM who didn’t work yesterday) and a 30 min break was put in, but my start and end times were not changed. I tried contacting the GM multiple times today but he did not respond. I called my store and was able to talk to another manager who said that the GM says that if you use your employee meal then it will be counted as you taking a break. I worked ~45.5 hours and I think that may have something to do with it. This is the only bad aspect of working there. I plan on working there until…

This is the only bad aspect of working there. I plan on working there until August and I don’t want to quit or get fired.

Does anyone know what laws state that you have to be paid for time worked? I live and work in Texas if that helps. I want something that I can refer to just in case. If he won’t listen I do plan on taking it to corporate to get it solved.

Sorry if this isn’t the right place.
