Need suggestions on leaving my job in good terms and still get unemployment in California

Unlike the many people who are getting laid off at the moment, my job is steady and I have an excellent relationship with my employer. I'm also the only person at the company in my role, but my job is not unique and I can easily be replaced just takes time. I have some tenure here but the work itself is getting boring, not challenging, I'm doing more administration than the job I was hired to do, and there's a lack of career growth opportunities. Salary is solid., but I don't think I will be able to find a comparable salary given my tenure here and the way companies are hiring for my role at the moment. I'd like to leave on good terms with the opportunity to take 6 months off, collect unemployment in CA, and potentially work with them as a Contractor or even return as a FTE…

I'd like to leave on good terms with the opportunity to take 6 months off, collect unemployment in CA, and potentially work with them as a Contractor or even return as a FTE in the future (unlikely).

My questions are:

  1. I read that some job abandonment does not qualify for unemployment in CA. Is that accurate?
  2. What's the best strategy to leave the job on good terms and collect unemployment?
  3. How much notice should I give? Especially if I want to potentially work with them as a Contractor, at least offer my services. Also, I don't want to surprise them with just 2 weeks, knowing it's will take at least 2 months to find and onboard a replacement, offer knowledge transfer and training.

Thanks
