New Attitude About Work

A few years ago I left a company that was very toxic. I was making less than someone fresh out of college, pressured to work overtime every week, and never given a promotion or raise I deserved. I got a new job with much higher pay that honestly treats their workers a lot better. My old company found out I how much I make at my new job and actually said I was being overpaid which I think just shows how little they think their employees are worth compared to industry standard. I feel sad for people who brag about working overtime since they’re still stuck in the mentality of work being their main source of fulfillment and pride. I can honestly say I am much happier after deciding work is just a way to get a paycheck and fund the life I have outside.
