New coworker asked if I had kids then preached to me about other things

I'm working with a new guy , I have to train him and something just rubs me off wrong. First he asked me if I had kids when Noone was around (I didn't see him ask anyone else that). I told him I have a dog and he replied “we don't deserve pets”. I said that good people and good pet owners do. He then preached to us that we should be believe that blah blah blah (i tuned out for a bit). Later he saw a girl he knew come into our work and looked distracted , I asked if he was okay and he just vaguely said “I wouldn't put it past them”. And mentioned something to my coworker about a cop. The next day my GM asked how he was but anytime I try to tell him things he thinks I'm making a mountain out of a molehill. This job is stressful enough, on top of everything else I deal with- im not training someone who judges me and preaches to me
