I work in a luxury company.
The salary was not high but hours are good and the work is really organized, so I liked it. Every single coworker was truly skilled, the environment was great and we could talk in group about salary and everything.
Recently our city got an insane price inflation, so our salary went from “not high” to “not enough to live”. We talked with the manager collectively and he accepted to rise our salary (our department is going great, the company has huge profits). He was a good person. Then he had a sudden heart attack.
The company didn't promote anyone of us, instead hired a new manager from outside. The new one blocked our salary increase. Also new shifts are terrible. Some of the best workers left. The new manager substituted them with young attractive girls that don't know absolutely anything about the job, it's like working with 2 or 3 people less in the department. Don't know how they get hired, maybe for sex, I don't care.
The thing is that now work is a way harder because new girls can't help with any task and the real salary is also a way lower due to inflation. I would like to leave but don't have any better job on hand. I talked with coworkers but they don't want to strike for better conditions, they are just waiting for a better offer and then leave.
What can I do? I'm shocked that I passed from liking my job so much to hate every second of it in a single month.
