I work at a 'grommet' bakery and we got new owners at the beginning of the year. And they decided dispite the fact we ran a successful company with multiple location that they needed to change EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE. Including extending hours, increasing prices twice in 6 months, changing all of the recepies, adding a bunch of new things to the menu, switching to cheaper alternative for everything that they could resulting in a drop in quality for everything in the store, more than tripling the storage life of some of our baked goods (which they claim are preservative free), and a bunch more.
At first they regularly came into the store and asked the employees our opinions on the changes but every time the large majority of employees would explain why we thought it was a bad idea and every time they would ignore us and do it anyway usually resulting in negative responses from staff and customers alike. Apparently they got sick of the employees opposing them and stopped coming into the store all together and no longer ask staff opinions on everything and have even stopped reading the shift reports where staff would list employee and customer concerns/complaints.
And now they are actively cutting people's hours and making an attempt to flip the entire staff so the store is exclusively run by part time employees who didn't work under the previous owner and can't see how far the quality has dropped. And when asked they said that they are just trying to save money so they can further extend the brand.
I don't have a point to this I'm just complaining.
