So my job of 8 years just gave us 100 hours of PTO!
Normally this should excite people right, well not me.
For the last 8 years we have been able to take within reason as much time off as we needed, only 1 guy of a total of 4 has ever abused this. Yesterday my boss tells me about it in anger. While for most people this is a good thing I'm furious, for me it's a gift with tight strings attached. Far as I can tell it's basically to stop our 1 moron from no call no showing. I'm upset because I know this will be used as a weapon against us instead of a “gift”. Am I wrong?
Previous requests for time off have been more or less verbal and hesitant but always granted. Only recently have my time off requests been met with resistance. Also my request for time off are not really asking for permission but rather me being polite in my demands.
Also I'm pissed because I'm the senior employee and the next guy (who is the problem) is a year behind me, second guy behind me is 2 years and the third is 7 years behind me. WE ALL GOT 100 HOURS.
Am I crazy in thinking this small company is going to shit?
