hey everyone, the retail store i work at has had no AC for almost two years now. it was never an issue until our city started being in an excessive heat warning and temps started reaching triple digits. it’s now at a constant 90 degrees and we’ve been working this way for well over a month. sure corporate has approved ice cream and waters but is this even allowed ? some days i think my older coworkers are going to faint and die and other days i feel like it’s gonna be my turn, not to mention disgruntled customers and loss in sales. how can i get the store to close until the AC is fixed bc this is bullshit and no one should have to work like this. and if closing isn’t an option is there a way to agent hazard pay? the company has been aware of this for quite some time so there is a paper trail.
