I have applied to over 25 jobs in the last couple weeks alone. I have multiple years experience in digital marketing running social and writing email campaigns.
The space has become a slaughterhouse for exploited and cheap outsourced work I feel.
So I said fuck it and applied for some coffee shops (self learning to code right now and I’m cool with not having a ton of income while I sit back and do that)
I’ve gotten some calls back for both marketing and a coffee shop. Funny thing is, they ALL pay the same, $15 an hour.
Why the fuck would I want to go write email campaigns in an office I have to commute 45 minutes to when a coffee shop 10 minutes away from me pays the same and won’t be soul crushing?
And the coffee shop isn’t requiring me to have 3 years of marketing experience with a bachelors degree.
I called the coffee shop back to accept the job, they decided they didn’t want to hire anyone else right now.
Wtf.
