Their idea of work is bullshit. What the media and 1% call “work” is the mythology of misery. Most people want to do labor, the supposed “problem” is that people want to own their labor. People want to create and help each other.
The laborer is undervalued and scrutinized. To the elite, most labor cannot be called “work” because they've made the mythology of work into the mythology of pain.
Yesterday I started learning OpenGL because I want to learn how to code games. I will never get a job 3D modeling though. Artists are paid shit after meeting absurd requirements because “they have a passion for it.” Which is an excuse to pay artists less after they spend years learning their craft.
Today I went to a bakery and got 4 garbage bags full of various breads to give to our city's homeless population. I want to feed and house the homeless. I think most people with a working brain want to.
Most chain bakeries and grocery stores will NOT give you food they're throwing away because that exposes the stupidity of the machine. They're throwing out food and making sure it eventually expires.
They say they trash good food because of government regulations, but that is a smokescreen. They waste the food because the elite want to make others believe that menial 40 hour work weeks are necessary.
The 1% don't want to admit that things will get done when people can control their own lives. The people they've bribed and brainwashed refuse to think of a world where telling others “do what you want” means some might want to fix sewers, create public transit, or feed others.
A world where interests can be freely explored and we can easily help one another is their worst nightmare. Because then they might have to admit they are no better than us.
They cannot admit that humans are a communal, social species that naturally want to help one another. It's why what they call “work” is only allowed to be miserable.
Our communal nature is why the only idea of anarchy expressed in media is total lawlessness, because god forbid we create our own organizations based on need instead of fictional numbers representing “value.”
Labor is not naturally pain, they've just told us it is.
