Started working for this company. Last spring in Austin, Texas.
From the get go. They were disorganized and I got a sense that I wasn't going to get to do what they hired me to do.
This was compounded my them being too 'busy' to train me in the things claimed they wanted me to do. Then instead started giving Donkey work like 'filing'..
So I quit.
My paycheck was 'mailed' to me. Never received. When I contacted the Boss. There was a bunch of lies. Finishing with 'they' don't control the post office.
Skip forward to Jan this year. I get an email from the companies accounting department. Asking for my correct address. It 'seems' they mixed up the number to my house. So I gave them my correct address, two days later I receive my W 2.
I wrote accounting department, telling them I never received the paycheck.
Another story time email a week later we mailed you you pay check.
Still didn't receive anything. I now have collective evidence of neglect, incompetentance and fraud.
So after a week, I reach out again. They say, ok we canceled the last check. We will NOT mail it to you. You HAVE to come pick it up.
Which I'm not going to do. I'm not losing pay, taking time off from my job. Pay to travel there for a paycheck that may or may not be there.
I will be reaching out to the deptment of labor and IRS.
1) Should I even respond to them at this point?
2) What else should I do, if anything?
