Working here is fucking atrocious. You get 40 hours total UNPAID time off every 6 months. That's your sick days, late arrivals, early call outs, mental health breakdowns (because this job has SO many), personal time, and any other emergencies. Had COVID four months ago and now your mom died? Sorry, you're not allowed to go to the funeral.
Sure. You can go if you want, you could totally just say fuck the system and go anyway. But if you go over on your hours, you are immediately ineligible for promotions, have the time you're gone subtracted from your next refresh (IE if you go 8 hours over on your time off, you only get 32 hours back for the next 6 months), and you're reviewed for termination by the literal worst scum of the earth HR department if you go over a certain amount, which I don't know exactly how much but it's not a lot.
That's 5 days off for 6 months.
And if you're a little late for work one day, it's only really 4 days plus some extra late days or a half day. If you go over even by a minute, you're flagged. So 40 hours and 1 minute, you're fucked bucko.
Not to mention the horrible treatment we get from the shittest customers on planet earth who believe that, somehow, if they scream at us enough, we will expedite their dogs medication. We literally have no expedited order system. People will order fucking INSULIN the day they need it and expect it there or they'll have our head for it.
We do accrue PTO as a fucking trickle, but guess what? You can't use PTO for emergencies. You have to request any PTO usage 2 weeks in advance minimum. I've had bitch HR fucks tell me, when I was sick with covid, that I should have put in a PTO request. Two weeks ago.
Fuck this company, fuck this system. The punishment for not showing up to work should be not being paid. Not treated like a toddler who can't manage their time.
