Not getting a raise. I mean should I be more mad?

I am honestly pretty cool about this. I work as a software engineer consultant. I have only had one project so far the rest of the time has been spent on the bench skilling up and working to earn certs. I did manage to get my CCP in March and I am working on my AWS Dev Associate cert. I am on track to get that one this year too. My aim is to get it in July at the latest. I mean in my book, I wasn’t expecting a raise so I can’t be angry about something I was never expecting. They said the company was going through a difficult financial period and there are more people on the bench than normal. So my thought was no raise is better than layoffs. Should I be more angry? They said in the email that they were open to additional benefits.…

They said in the email that they were open to additional benefits. I thought about inquiring about lower cost therapy. Since I ran out of free therapy sessions. Is this a fair thing to ask?
