One of my soon to be former employers inspired me to come here

So Ive gone from making 200 a week (5 an hour) back in 2005 to working two 10 dollar an hour jobs in 2012. In 2014, two years aftee graduating college, I got a job in my field at 38K a year. 2016 I was at 55K. As of 2020, I was making 72K a year at that job. I just left that job and got one making into the lower 6 figures. One of the 10 dollar jobs I stayed on with part time, the entire time since. In 2014 I went to the boss and more or less demanded a raise to 15 an hour. I had all the leverage, and did some very important things for them. In 2016 I was ready to hang it up when I got the bump tp 55K at my other job. They gave me another dollar to stay. In 2018, same…

In 2018, same thing. I was ready to leave…. gave me a bump to 18 an hour.

Now this past falln shit went down, and I got thrown under the bus HARD. I did IMO really well in the situation, but not perfect by all means. I find out they are looking to outsource my primary duty. This lines up wonderfully with my new low six figure opportunity. I turn in my notice, and two people are very concerned. Trying to get me to stay. I offer to stay, in a limited capacity, for what would be my most significant pay bump yet from them.

I speak directly to the owner about all this. No middle man. No emails. Always face to face.

The audacity. Is all I can say. The highlights were, “he doesnt give out money due to time being spent in the same position” and he has to evaluate what of my duties he can outsource, have existing staff do, or hire someone cheaper to do it. He is currently losing one important employee and is close to losing me too. He will evaluate and get back to me.. to see if he can push my work on someone else for free basically or hire someone at minimum wage to do it

Everything I do for him is some combination of very technical and mission critical. With some odds and ends being very important, not hard to do, but requires strict oversight and no one else knows how to do it.

Sounds like he thinks Im training my replacement after pretty much pissing on me. Lol. Nope.

Most of his other employees, who have no leverage and need their jobs…. man is he shitty them.

He is going to lose any decent employee he has left.
