Only having 2 days to a week for compassionate leave after losing a loved one is ridiculous

I'm fortunate enough to say I've never lost a loved one, but I know one day I eventually will. The thought of one day losing my husband, my mom, heck, even my dog would probably mess me up. The fact most companies only offer 2 days as a standard, (or a week at most for nicer companies) and then expect to come back and work as normal is insane. If I lost my husband my whole life would be turned upside down. The funeral probably wouldn't even happen in two days, I'd have to move, sort through his stuff, deal with the new loneliness. It hasn't even happened and I'm stressed. I've seen people lose their parents and it's a long, slow process dealing with their assets and will. Also what's with some companies having limited compassionate leave? If you lose two loved ones in one year it's even worse…

Maybe some people have more relaxed jobs where you can just come in, do some work by yourself and go home no worries stress free but my work, and a lot of people's require full attention, to be attentive and perky, work with clients and customers or deal with stressful situations.

I get you probably can get away with using other leave, like a doctors note for sick leave or other entitlements like unpaid career break they might let you have but I'd probably just quit tbh. I can understand not wanting to pay you but it's more the idea you need approved time off and a short timeframe to get back to your normal duties. Okay maybe for my dog I could deal with a few days and go back but the more severe the situation, the less likely i can give an answer of when I'm ready to go back to work because I'd need multiple weeks or months to heal and get my shit together.

Edit because I keep thinking about it: my country allows up to 12 months unpaid maternity leave so you can adjust to life living with a newborn but my company only allows 3 days off if the baby passes away. So you have 9 months to prepare for first 12 months with a newborn but if your entire family suddenly perishes in a fire then you only get 3 days to figure it out.
