Hello.
I work 4 x 4, 12 hour days(1hr lunch) and one shift consists of 2 days 2 nights back to back. It will be 7am-7pm of days, 7pm-7am of nights, sometimes 3 nights after 2 days instead of two.
My supervisor has mandatory meetings at 8am every Monday that run until 11pm. He works 8-4 Monday to Friday so it works great with him.
He told us if we don’t attend, we will face consequences. I asked how does that work with night shift because we work 7pm-7am for night shifts(usually 3-4 Mondays of nights in a row) and he told me that ‘if I were you, i would show up regardless’
Is this actually required of me or is this unfair? I can’t imagine staying up 20+ hours just because of meetings and messing up my sleeping schedule even more then it is. If I stay up every Monday, I’m looking at potentially 24 hours of being awake assuming I didn’t/couldn’t nap before my shifts start
Can someone help me understand ONT laws ?
