At my previous job my boss didn't figure out to take me off the payroll after my two weeks, so I got paid for an additional 2 weeks. About a month later, he sent me an email stating that the payroll company had made a mistake and overpaid on the last paycheck (when he really forgot to take me off the payroll list). He has now sent an email asking me to send the company a check for the amount of the overpayment. Since he does such a horrible job at payroll, and the company just pocket's the check, does my W2 get messed up and I get double taxed for those last two weeks?
