6 weeks 5 rounds — blown off. What should I have done?

What is going on with employers? Two reputable agencies in a row have strung me along for months. HR/Recruiters would set a check in date and blow it — so I’d have to follow up. Then another 1-2 interviews — another blown off check-in, rinse and repeat. I’d eventually get an offer — but by the time they got things together, I was mega turned off. I’d often be balancing interviews for full-time jobs with smaller freelance gigs, but never felt like I could hold that over them as leverage. What could I have done amidst the drawn out interview cycle that could have helped close the loop faster — or been used to leverage a better offer?

Too much in too little time

Had a breakdown and had to leave my shift early. Had worked 60 hours this week with the current day unfinished and with one more left to go. Boss said I could have the weekend off, but that I’d have to eventually go back to working 6 days a week. 2 of my hours every shift is driving to & from my home. By the time I show up, I’m an hour late from when appointments open up, so they expect me to work 11 appointments in a 9-hour timespan snd somehow squeeze a break in. Today, one of the senior sales reps tried to get me to skip my lunch to squeeze in a 12th appointment when my schedule for the day was maxed out. And they’re paying me $14/hr for this shit.

Dialpad commercials on youtube. How to make your employees hate their job.

I know this is a serious subreddit about actual experiences but man am I triggered when I see those Dialpad commercials on youtube. It's basically some lady harassing employee and hovering over them, surprising them, avoiding talking to them, brushing against them to look at their computer, throwing their lunch in the trash, etc. That's how they market the app. Do you want these things as an employer? Control the peasants, use our app Dialpad!

Position I was told I would be interviewed filled while on medical PTO

My supervisor recently left, we worked together so well, but CEO with horrible management be skills drove them away. I am actively looking for other opportunities too, but did express interest in supervisor role. Wanted to give it a try, especially BC salary is 2X current role. CEO was all positive, yes, let's discuss when you get back. I had to have surgery and had medical PTO planned. Pretty major and was out for the allotted 4 weeks. I came back on time, jumped right back in, but no mention of interview for team lead position. 1week later, CEO announced they offered job to a friend and would be starting at the end of June. This was mentioning offhand at a full team meeting. Not a word to me about it before. I can “possibly” even understand not being able to wait for my leave, but since he's not starting…

Boss left, not considered for role

Boss leaving and not considering internal applicants Basically, I’ve been at a company for 3 years and my boss, who has been here a similar amount of time, is leaving. I’d love to apply for this role, but in a conversation with his boss (my boss’s boss, basically) I got the very strong sense that they were not considering internal hires. He even mentioned myself and my coworker (only two of us) sitting in on the interviews. And eventually learning from this new person. Would it be pointless to apply for this role with such a strong “it’s not for you signals”? I think I would do a good job (I have filled in for my boss on multiple occasions during medical leaves) – but I can’t help shake feeling a bit discouraged I’m not considered. Any advice is appreciated!

Conservatives apparently are strongly supportive of Work From Home. So why are they so anti labor?

Let’s yeet the old system

Hey, comrades of r/antiwork! So, we've all been venting and memeing about the dread of 9 to 5, the daily grind, and the soul-crushing corporate machine, right? It’s got me thinking: What if we could flip the table and create our own equitable work system instead? And thus, the idea of Cascade Co-Op was born. It's a worker cooperative that's not officially a thing yet, but it's gonna be. The vision? Start here in the gnarly Pacific Northwest (PNW) and then expand. We’ve got a Discord server set up already. Right now, it’s a fluffy, cozy space just waiting for y'all to fill it with your rad ideas, hot takes, and your collective brainpower. It's all about making Cascade Co-Op a reality through our collective effort. Think of it this way—it’s like creating a Minecraft world from scratch, but instead, it's a real-life co-op where every player gets an equal…

After working 5 months, 50-60 hr a week, salary, in a region barely afloat with no help, instead of a thank you, all I get is being told that 3-4 hr of my drive time a day as a field tech will not count.

Honestly, the title is the TL;DR. This is rambly and my grammar is bad. I am really sorry for how long this is. I have no support system. I have no savings. I am taking care of someone who means a lot to me and needs help, but can't get it yet. The point is, I have already been under so much stress that my work's reaction to all of this is simply pushing me over the edge and I don't know who else to ask. Who to reach out to. I don't know if things are going to be okay. I picked up this really awesome field tech position a few months ago. After a month, my boss was no longer with the company… and it turned out he didn't train me at all. I learned more on my own the two weeks after he was gone than any…

Previous toxic work environments have destroyed my ability to function at my current job

So I've been through the wringer with toxic work environments bosses ignoring the AWDA etc. I work at a marina now and my boss is very understanding which I am thankful for. The problem comes down to paranoia I've had to call out alot because of number of things sunsickness leading to high fevers, throwing out my back, car breaking down, and having to drive my mom to the er every time I callout I feel so bad to the point of panic attack over loosing my job. Even when I'm at work I STILL feel like I'll be fired over not working hard enough taking bathroom breaks or looking at my cellphone, mind you my boss has yet to reprimand me and is understanding over my callouts and has given me no intention of firing me. Is there anyway I can do anything to stop feeling this way? Do…

I’ve been body shamed at work.

Has anyone else been body shamed at work? What did you do about it? How did you handle it? My boss has been body shaming me throughout my year of employment. And generally making my life a living hell. I can’t take it anymore, I just feel shattered. I would appreciate any advice. Any advice would be appreciated!
