I work at a specialty pharmacy with controlled substances and they’ve just told us that we can’t have “personal belongings” in our company-approved 8x10x2 inch bags beyond paper and writing utensils, mp3 players, headphones/earbuds, and tools for work. I used to take a book to read, a crossword book, and a sketchbook for downtime. Those things are not allowed now. What are some things I might get away with doing during my downtime besides music, podcasts, and audiobooks? TIA
Sweeping, cleaning grinders and drill presses with brushes to pass the time… but I was forced to go on disability, that the company doesn't pay or offer to us, for a month for a hernia. @ 150/wk thru state.. I'd say my whole week has been light duty, this is the norm at the shop, someone always needs to clean up after everyone
Tempted to take it out by the offramp and collect donations.
The performers at Medieval Times in Buena Park are on strike. They have been on strike for over 115 days fighting against animal abuse, sexual harassment and low wages. At this time we ask all decent people who respect labor rights to actively boycott this location as well as share the information with family and friends. Please also join the performers in a showing of solidarity on June 17th from 12:30-8 on the picket line.
Need advice for HR issue
I work at a restaurant. I started about a month ago. There has been an employee working here who has been extremely problematic. I hate when I see Russians or Arabs in here just staring up at the menu like it's their first time reading English.” He also said “The reason people do DoorDash is because they're so fucking stupid they don't even know how to get papers so they don't even belong in this country at all.” He also talks about going to the shooting range and lots of politics, which I don't really feel is appropriate at work. Exactly 2 weeks ago today I had a conversation with my GM and let him know I'm not comfortable with the comments that this person has been making. He told me that he would follow…

I'm immunocompromised. If I get any amount of sick or even if my allergies flair I'm in for a world of hurt. Welp allergies have struck and I'm coughing so hard I'm puking and passing out. But guess who's still at work bc I need the $10 an hour to be able to afford the meds to take care of this. But working front of house when you can't talk or really even move really sucks.
