For all those who don’t get it.
We’ll never force you to get it. I’ll never coerce you. And I’ll try to use as little hierarchy as possible. What one thing rips you away from your family, friends? Work. Where do you gather a performance evaluation that doesn’t matter? Work. Where do you spend most of your time? Work. On vacation, what do you worry about most? Work. There is no evidence that those who work harder or are smarter are “rewarded” properly. As Ted Kaczynski points out “surrogate activities are easy.” But have a real goal, see how far you get. Intellectual property theft is on the rise, the way we live life here is encouraging people to steal. Competition not cooperation makes people miserable. Working for yourself is more satisfying than any job. Working to pay rent feels outlandish, it feels foreign. No matter the job no matter the pay. People don’t need masters. They…

43 is better then 32?
This happened a few years ago. I worked for a comapny that had 2 sides that do basically the same scope of work yearly, well call them side A and side B. Side B had roughly 20 guys where side A had 8 guys. I was brought in for a yearly and knew walking in it was going to be a little rough because the last few years moral has been quite low. The first thing that was brought up was that side A (my side) was averaging 32 hours a week and this was unexceptable. We should be ashamed because side B was averaging 43 hours a week for the whole year. I was lost for word because side A never struggled with jobs getting finished on time and most the time finished early while side B always needed to be bailed out. What is this mindset that if…
