A coworker had naively asked our corporate job for a raise last week due to inflation and high gas prices. They counter-offered with WFH flexibility instead so last night I emailed my boss that I’m “too poor to commute” because that’s the honest and uncomfortable reason. I’ll be rooting for the collapse of American civilization from my living room this week.

Part of standing up for yourself is telling the company you're rejecting them and often you can give a reason. So, to elaborate on my question, when you're using a company for their service and you find it unsatisfactory is it OK or even encouraged to offer strong feedback on the areas where they've fallen short?
