I quit!!!!

I left my barista job @ a hotel last Wednesday on a bit of a sour note. They were surprised that I left. They don’t honor 2 week notices so I didn’t give one. Anyway. Bye. Within 24 hours I had 3 interviews, and as of Friday I have a new job that I will start this coming Wednesday. Within a week I found employment! They are going to have a much harder time replacing me, and I hope they enjoy being short staffed for Memorial Day. 🙂

Our goals in the U.S. are to save up money and retire so we can travel after we’re 50. People in Europe save money for retirement and… travel every year.

Look at these prices! $75 for a can of red bull. If the Bartender made $1000 they were still underpaid. People who argue against raising minimum wage will happily accept this kind of price gouging.

Should we be shocked? Nope.

give me something to do at my work when I don’t have so much to do

I'm a software engineer. I hate it now because it took away the enthusiasm I had for programming. Well the thing is I just started for that company months ago and the sprints (a 2-week work period) are really really light. Today and until the end of the week, I just have to resolve my PR comments and review some codes since my code is already done for this sprint. I would like to do something to not loose my time. I work remotely. Do you have any idea of what I can do?

Reporting wage theft on behalf of someone else.

I was on Facebook, and ran across a person who is proud to work for free. An argument ensued, and someone mentioned that their employer could be reported for wage theft. But the employee doesn't want to report, and is happy about being treated poorly. Can someone report a company on behalf of someone else, even if the employee is ok with working off the clock? He deleted his posts, but there are screenshots.
