This post would be 10 pages long if I went into all the fucked up things I’ve had to deal with in the last 6 years. Some of it I’ve posted in this sub before. I went and told HR first. Shear fucking panic. She kept telling me she was happy for me (I decided to go back to school) but she had a wild look in her eyes. She said to me “I don’t know a single person that could do all the things you can”. Immediately after I left her office she paged our GM. I told my boss later. I actually felt pretty bad. She started to cry and told me she wished she could retire because she didn’t know what she was going to do. Before she left for the day she stopped by my office (we both have tomorrow + weekend off). She told me…
I'll try to be brief in my little rant. I've Just finished the first round of negotiations with my director boss regarding working conditions (+20% salary, 20->25 vac. days, 1 day p week WFH) and he is not even a little aware that I am not actually negotiating, but demanding. My demands are not even that outrageous in this f*** up world! You should've seen all the pathetic negotiating tactics that these people try to use and convince you to accept less. I was smiling so much inside of me and pitying him just because he doesn't want to give me more of the owners money. For what? For higher bonuses so he can keep his over the top luxury lifestyle? F him 🙂 I hold all the cards because I am a team leader of 5, but only I can do all the key tasks, while others are aware…
I thought he would be making, like, salary. 50-60k. Call center customer service isn't the worst gig, but for all that extra responsibility?? And here I thought about applying. Now.. I'd rather look elsewhere.
Stupid questions asked at interviews.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Working and growing with your fantastic company and being a major team player and active component in making you a millionaire whilst I work 40+ hours with low work/life balance and crappy benefits. I also hope to stroke out or have a heart attack because the work is so stressful and I can barely survive on the salary you provide. Why should we hire you? Well, you fucking brought me here after reading my fucking resume, so there must be a reason you are wasting my time and yours. It must be that I have the skills to perform this job based on my skillset, right? It's a good decision for you and for me, clearly. THIS IS THE DUMBEST FUCKING QUESTION. What would your superpower be? To be able to fly the fuck away from this interview to the bar to…
-on mobile, pardon any errors! So to set the scene, my decision can be traced back to the start of the pandemic. I was working a PT Customer Service job for a major airline, which I loved. Well the pandemic hit, and the industry took a major hit, and I got furloughed for about a 1/3 of 2020. In that time I decided to go back to school, and re-tool myself. I started in 08/2020 in an online boot camp for programming. I went all out into this program and was spending 10-12 hours a week in online classes and labs. That was also the same time I realized that working PT was no longer feasible. So I decided to start searching for a FT job. I spent several months looking, and decided to be accept an offer to be a manager at a small family owned business (it was…
