What kind of shit is that?? No amount of pay and benefits are going to keep my body from getting heat stroke in the summer months, no amount of pay and benefits will keep me from fainting due to the overwhelming heat. Warehouse work is already hard as hell! Why contribute to that? What an inhumane, sadistic work environment. First company I'm referring to has a joke of a union already and rhymes with Shoo Pee Less Molivery. My body was shutting down by the first hour. Second warehouse I just interviewed for with 'great benefits' rhymes with Tee Nee Mess Narmacutical. What the fruck is up with this practice?
Is my manager testing my boundaries?
16f; So i started working at a fast food place that's constantly busy i work 4-10 ; 5-10. I told my manager I won't work past 10 but today i'm scheduled for 5-11 that's 6 hours. I'm already struggling a bit with sleeping in class but my teachers are pretty chill for the most part and I still get my work done but I just miss sleeping at 8/9 Like i used to. I'm wondering if my manager just put this on accident and I could just ask her to leave at 10 like I usually do. I don't want to create a hostile work environment as I'm going to move in 4 months and I just want to save enough money to buy a new phone, but I also don't want to see her try and schedule me for leaving at 11pm all the time for a job that…
Carvana continues to lay off workers.
Just got word that at least one Carvana location is making all their employees sign a document that says employees can be laid off by the company at any time. They also forced all the employees to sign the document saying that they needed to sign it. This company is a joke.
WFH & Antiquated Mindsets
The organization I work for decided to so graciously provide my department with a single day of WFH. Extremely generous, I know. Of course, they couldn't just present it to us as adults, there had to be the attitude of: you better be grateful we're doing this, and we're going to control your WFH experience in every single way possible. The department VP is extremely anti-WFH and due to the corporate hierarchical structure, his arbitrary opinion trumps all. He believes that companies are losing that “special collaboration aspect” by allowing employees to consistently work from home. Meanwhile, he only steps foot out of his office to use the bathroom. Your one day will be assigned -The department reserves the right to terminate WFH whenever they see fit -If your dedicated WFH day falls on a holiday or the department needs you in the office on that day, you cannot make…
Unfair or just entitled- Update
Hey yall, this is an update to another post I made about a week ago. Anyway, in my last post, I was talking about how my manager was scheduling me almost twice as much as i initially agreed to. Well, update! I changed my hours last week so that I was ONLY available for 25 hours max. I pretty much gave them no wiggle room to schedule me any extra hours. And I don't think my manager liked that very much, because after changing my schedule they pretty much gave me constructive criticism about my work performance, and by that, i mean criticism with nothing constructive. (they told me I needed to be better and when i asked where and how specifically i could improve, they just said vague things that were not useful) and then moved me to work in the WORST departments, the ones no one likes to…
