How is that immediately from the time workplaces were shutdown due to covid restrictions to the beginnings of the Great Resignation that every petty little or large workplace started putting up, the same exact statements that all read something similar to: Please be patient with the workers who chose to show up to work today. Due to government handouts nobody wants to work anymore. How are we all falling for this hook, line and sinker? It’s propaganda. Every workplace that has these signs up have either the same exact wording, or the same exact phrases, the same points of calling out unemployment insurance (which is EARNED btw) and calling workers lazy rather than the truth: Workers are grossly unpaid. For the last 6 years I’ve been in corporate tech in America. Currently I am an account engineer for an enterprise level tech company. I make about 120k a year at the minimum. When the markets are good I make about 140k-150k annually. Apparently society values me but my job is literally pointless. Today I just sat in a zoom meeting while one of the c-level team at Tinder(one of the clients of my company) screamed abuse at us for 20 minutes straight because we took too long to solve an issue “that MIGHT have lost them money had it been worse”. I've been out of college for 10 years. Here's what I've learned so far: Just like big corporations embellish their products when selling to you, you should embellish yourself equally as much. Never ever let your boss know how capable you really are. Make your boss think you are giving it your all while only working 25-50% of your total capacity. This way when they tare/zero out your progress at the next annual review, you will still have a buffer of capacity to fall back on. If you fail to do this and accidentally show your full potential, your employer will use it against you and give you nothing in return for expecting you to put in 110% next year. Never expect a company to be as loyal to you as they expect you to be to it. This includes waiting around for a potential raise or promotion…don't do it.…

I’m almost out of savings, my car insurance is about to go up, and I’m about to drop off my parents insurance. so I’m just going to fluff things up on my resume. or, as some folk would say, I’m going to lie.
