They just had the money to pay sociopathic intelligent people on how they should say it and how to do it. You have writers on the show and then you have the actors.
Nothing major but my work from home call center job just emailed saying that they want our PC's on all all times. Lol no.
Working for what??
We were taught if you work hard and apply yourself, you could live the 'American Dream'. Ya know, the house, picket fence, save for retirement, etc. As inflation continues to pound us all, is there really an American Dream anymore? It would be one thing if just one aspect of consumerism went way up, but it has affected every aspect of the dollar. Okay, gas is way up, so typical person has to sacrifice somewhere else. Not as much for say groceries. Guess what, those prices have skyrocketed as well. Oil, housing, etc. It never stops, and continues to worsen. Why bust your ass, and give any company all you have? There is no reward, no better life cause you worked hard. You know what the reward is? If you are lucky, barely staying above water. For most, it will be drowning in debt, and a bleak future. Working just…
an amazing thank you gift

How do I politely/professional ly respond to an email and say “That's not what I asked. Read the email and answer the freaking question!”
An Interview from Hell!
I interviewed today for a position that seems very interesting. However after talking to hiring manager. The manager did not want to hire anyone for the position. The hiring manager has an issue that he was looking for free consulting for the business. I told the Hiring manager I would only go so far giving the answer. Because I don’t give away my knowledge for free.
Had the Ole “Bait and Switch” occur.
Feel like this belongs and I'm a bit pissed about it so might as well put it here. Went to apply for a job that was advertised as “Customer Service Associate” which all and all can mean anything but I've mainly heard it to refer to cashiers and the like. Was also advertised that there were Part Time and Full Time positions available. Now for personal reasons, I'm only looking for Part Time, that's it. I don't want/need a full time position, at all. So I get an email about my application for a “Full Time Warehouse” position. Like I guess a “Warehouse” position can be covered as a “Customer Service Associate” but I've never heard it being used like that before. So my real issue comes with the fact that it's only full time. So I applied for “Part Time Cashier” and got sent to “Full Time Warehouse”. Like…
I had my yearly review today and it went well, until my program manager told me what the standard raises would be this year for anyone in the “raise pool” (1-3% as mentioned in the title). I work at a mid-sized IT company as a network engineer on a government contract. Somehow, they believe it’s acceptable to potentially offer employees a 1% annual raise in a year where our purchasing power has decreased by over 8%. How would this incentivize anyone to do their best work? I’ve made about $70k since February 2021. Luckily I’ve planned on our raises being a joke, so I’ve earned two more industry certs in the last month, brushed up my resume and started applying for dozens of open networking and security positions in the last couple weeks. Why do companies think they can offer these (in my opinion) insulting raises? Honestly, our turnover rate…
I’m 18, just wrapping up my first year of college. I’m applying for full time work as a receptionist, saving up to buy a house next summer. I have my Microsoft office specialist certification, and 3 years of employment history as a nanny and fitness class instructor. I’ve applied for maybe 15 jobs so far and none have gotten back to me. All the jobs I applied for were $25-40k paying jobs, as a receptionist/assistant. They all wanted at least 4 years of experience as a receptionist/customer service or a bachelors degree. How is anyone that experienced going to go for something paying that low???
