I request time off for a vacation ahead of time, today I spoke to a manager (I like them) that apparently I need to find someone to cover my weekend shift that I requested off cause it's “my shift”. The damn schedule isn't even out for that month and I have to find someone for a non-existent shift?!?! I ended up bitching to the owner of the company and was told he would take care of it. I feel bad someone is gonna get in trouble, but this legit is not my job. Edit. Typo.
I’ve got 4 coworkers bedridden. I’ve worked at this job for 4 months. I’ve gone in, the office is nice, but home is much better. No gas, eating out, snack bar, talking and forgetting to work, getting exhausted from other people, and being able to take a break and lay in bed when I have a panic attack or anything similar. I’m definitely debating on a note from my psych that says I can’t do this. My productivity drops when I go into the office. I’m easily distracted and am faking a smile over the social exhaustion within an hour of arrival. The office has saved money and increased profits. So clearly, we must ruin that. For TEAMWORK!
Amy’s Kitchen going down
Hey everyone, I'm sure many of you don't know that Amy's Kitchen (the popular frozen entree company) has recently been unsettled by it's own workforce. Allegedly, Amy's kitchen doesn't give a hoot about it's workers, their safety, or the sanitation of their own shop! Anyway, I made a video about it. I make videos to help others know that they don't have to suffer, like the Amy's Kitchen people have been. It's honestly a blessing for the workers to get exposure on their situation. Supposedly, Amy's Kitchen has paid over 100K$ in fines to Osha. If you need some context, I used to work at a coal mine who budgeted 70K$ for MSHA fines. 100K$ Is more than a coal mine anticipates. A COAL MINE! While it seems like I'm just looking for views, that may be true. I just want to help people mitigate their draining situation. …
I haven't performed the duties in my job description since 2019. I have asked for an updated job description, which I keep being told “is coming.” I wad told I'd see a draft in March but haven't received anything. In the meantime, I keep being given more and more job duties. Some of these duties I feel are out of my job classification (I work at a public institution), and when I asked to talk to someone in the organization who could explain to me how these new duties fit into my current classification, they started the process of taking disciplinary action against me, saying that my work wasn't hood enough What can I do, if anything? So far all I've come up with is to really half-ass the extra responsibilities they're giving me.
