I've interviewed at 4 jobs and after the 1st interview I've been ghosted. I can already guess why tbh -there is a misalignment on compensation which could have been avoided by stating budget upfront But regardless I find the complete ghosting and lack of follow up as unprofessional because they'll tell me “we'll look into flexibility and get back to you” like why lie lol. I've had to reach out to get rejections and some I just left as is. Wondering if you have been having the same experience?

Just wanted to share that I submitted a one week notice today and boss was absolutely furious. They asked “So you’re not going to work out a two week notice?!” to which I said I did not have the time to do so. I said I would also be taking my leftover PTO time during this period before leaving. They repeatedly said they were so disappointed I was not submitting two weeks which is laughable as I’ve been training my replacement for 4 months and they were aware months ago I would be moving out of state which is why this was even happening. Hi, guys. I thought these sorts of things were purely exaggeration, but I just had a frustrating phone call that reminded me of the reality behind the anecdotes. I'm in the process of looking for work, and I saw an ad that looked decent, if a little too light in information (specifically no pay listed). The following is a summary of the conversation I had with the manager on duty: Me: “Hi, I'm calling about [position]. Could you explain more on the nature of the job and the compensation?” Them: “It's basically just [echoes job post].” Me: “Right, but could you elaborate? Long time lurker, first time poster. Was paid minimum wage (£8.91 at the time)to run a small restaurant on my own. Was promised a pay rise that would be 'similar to those in the surrounding areas'. Had a sit down meeting with my manager and was offered £10.55 as that is all he could afford. Or so he says. However after reading some of the stories posted on here I looked at similar jobs in the surrounding area before this meeting and found the average to be around £13-£15 an hour. He still refused to budge and if it hadn't of been for this I wouldn't have had the nerve to even bother arguing and would have smiled and said thanks. Instead I said thanks but no thanks, take my month notice period. Within 2 hours I had applied for 3 jobs and had all 3 interviews and trails booked…

So I received a job offer for double my salary. On the application I completely disclosed that I had a misdemeanor six years ago. I also disclosed That due to some abuse issues and some very personal issues that I voluntarily surrendered my professional licensure 6 years ago as well. I stated this in the interview, in the online application, and in my correspondence with HR. They seemed completely fine with it and even gave me more money than I asked for. I quit my other job.
