Short Clip: Chomsky on Wage Slavery
Have you guys had enough? What do we do?
I’m so tired emotionally and physically and my job isn’t that physically demanding. What do we do? I make 17/h “plus tips” and my rent is now over 2000 in an area where there’s active gang violence. gas sucks so I bought a bike. groceries cost a lot so i try to eat at work as much as I can even though I hate it cuz free food you know? What do we do ? How do we change things? A mass strike ? Do we vote ? Does that do anything if our politicians are not on the side of the people ? At this point it’s starting to look like death is the only escape from this constant cycle have you had enough of this also?

I was yelled at twice by an older, bitchy, female manager telling me, “You’re not working hard enough. Everything has to get done before we close tonight!” I just shrugged it off and kept doing my best. They just threw me in the fire with zero training or anyone to help, which was absolutely ridiculous. An assistant manager told me I was “too young and inexperienced to be working here.” As a college student who has worked in retail before, In…
