This was old, but I thought I would share. I had just come from a very long day teaching a class. I made a lot of money that day and amount of time I spent. I was hungry and had a wad of money in my pocket so I stopped at a small burger joint. While I was eating the women (1 person but more than two of me) in the table next to me, summoned the manager and proceeded to go on a rant about the crappy service, crappy food, crappy decor in a small (6 tables ish) restaurant The waitress could totally hear everything. She was nearly half way through when I asked the manager “sorry to interrupt but I had the same waitress when you are done talking to this customer I would like to speak to you as well” The woman puffs up thinking I will…
I wish telemarketing was illegal.
Here is my take. Stop using their products all together. If everyone did this for just 1 year. They will all go bankrupt. There will always be other smaller companies who will benefit from their demise. But our biggest sacrifice would be to stop using everything they have to offer for only 1 year. Any other takes or ideas?
Mass Unionization
This will probably get buried under everything, but those of us in this sub that live in the U.S. (most of us I presume), must take the power back into our own hands. It is time to come together in a mass effort and print out unionization flyers. Post them all over walmarts, targets, Starbucks, McDonald's, etc. Use charts, graphs, and inspirational quotes. Companies constantly release anti-union propaganda, so it is time for us to make our own. I will make several designs. Perhaps we could all come together and print out mass amounts. Whenever you're shopping, or eating, or just about the town, place these flyers. It is time that we take our power back, and if mass unionization doesn't work, perhaps something else will.
I worked my whole life for what…
My mom has been making poverty wages my whole life. Making 20k since I was able to breathe. Dad left when I was a kid. I kicked ass, got a doctorate degree, make a ton of money, but I can’t even afford a home with my student debt and housing prices. Wtf is the point! ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT
GEICO SALES
Someone please talk me off the ledge. GEICO has made so many life altering decisions over the past month and I dont think I'm going to be ok. First, we found out about a week ago that our CEO gave himself a 39% raise last year. We got shitty raises because of “A bad year”. GEICO decided it would be genius to stop selling over the phone in 16 States. Try to call GEICO NY, CA and 14 other states and buy a policy over the phone… you can't! If you call me, I have to tell you to buy the policy online. What kind of bullshit is that?! I'm going from making just over $100k a year down to $48k. I'm litterally going to lose half my income. I just bought a house in November, and while it's my fault for “relying on bonus and Overtime”, I did it…lesson…
I work at an undisclosed location in an undisclosed place because if word got back to my employer that I’m bitching like this on Reddit there would probably be words. Okay, so in this undisclosed place in this undisclosed location I work in an undisclosed department. This department only pays about 2/3rds of my actual wage, the rest is accounted for by the generosity of my patrons (tips). Now, currently we have a very large conference of google employees at our…let’s say venue? I’m sure you can see where this is going. The Google employees staying with us are happily putting everything on their expense accounts and cards, a good deal of them rude as all shit, and only about 1 in maybe 10 actually left a tip. Some of these orders were $80 or more. This place is known for our great service. And we deliver. But by about…
