There's nothing like getting yelled at by your boss for a problem that you didn't make, and when you ask what happened the only reply he can muster is 'WELL YOU TELL ME”. How hard is it as a boss to take a moment and think. WHO caused this problem, WHY did this happen and HOW can we fix it and make sure it doesn't happen again. Before resorting to yelling at your employees. Already applied to other jobs and cant wait to hand in my two weeks.
I keep hearing of a coming recession. We had one in 2008, one in 2020, and now we might have one in 2022. So we'd have had three major recessions, 2008 and 2020 being historically large, since I graduated college. WTF is wrong with this economy?
This is a genuine question coming from a privileged white man, so I apologize for my ignorance. I genuinely want to know how people get stuck in jobs making only minimum wage? Especially as adults. I made minimum wage for a couple months in a seasonal job, which was my first job at 16, but never again after that. Even my current partner, who barely scraped by with a high school degree, got his first job at 20 making $11/hr and is now 22 making $18/hr at a call center. I've never met an adult making minimum wage or close to it yet many on this sub seem to be stuck in it. From my obv biased, privileged point of view, I just don't understand how you can settle for that. Especially in this market, there's are thousands of jobs, in person or remote, that enable you to make well…
I live in a state where it is now required that we earn 1 hour of PTO per 40 hours of work. Our work can (one place I worked did) give us more, but they cannot give us less. It is specified in the law that it can be used at our discretion, within the law, and an employer cannot pursue disciplinary action, as long as it is covered by the law. The law includes mental and physical health, doctors appointments, caring for spouses or family members (any member), if schools are closed and we have children that need care, or in domestic violence cases. In addition my employer has a policy that we can use it without giving a reason and they treat it as personal time under the mandatory law. However, our location has just started bringing back reviews. One of our longer employees just got his back…
Im not trying to beg or cry a sob story, I just feel really bad all the time and cannot work anymore due to many mental and physical health reasons. I’m 20, live on my own and will be evicted if I can’t find a way to make money looking for advice on perhaps a passive income, or any work that doesn’t involve physical labour, I would love to work from home but can’t as I only have my high school diploma and I’m going to try to start college soon if I can maybe get a loan or find a way to make some money. I am really desperate here and willing to put in the effort. Serious advice only. I am seriously thinking suicide is just an easier option but I don’t wanna kill myself I just wanna live and be happy but everything is so expensive and…
