The other day I was at work and I've really been hating it lately. A few people quit our department and the company's solution to that is to work us even harder and enforce overtime on us because we are getting behind. No incentives and definitely no pay rises. They seem to be oblivious to the fact people are leaving because they are unhappy and they think cracking down adding to our workload and forcing us to work more hours without addressing any of the problems that people are leaving in the first place is beyond me. I walked away that day smiling knowing that was my last day and I quit by text effective immediately.
I work at a medical lab, and we supply important product to hospitals. Its already a tight schedule because we have three people running our 24/7 facility, plus one coworker got sick and another took PTO. Leaving just me to do 10-12 hour days and then go on call immediately after since Wednesday. I finally told them to shove it. I was expect to be on call Tomorrow for a fifth day in a row, but I told them if they want product shipped out tomorrow they would have to do it themselves. Its my finals week and I'm putting in long days, plus I missed my nephew's birth because I had to be close to work. Fuck work and fuck them for asking me to be responsible for literally every shift for five days.
What the hell is wrong with managers and forcing workers to do party tricks? I am a native American and I work at a startup. My manager a 40 something year old white man, is really into company culture. We had to fill out forums for diversity a few months ago, which is when my manager found out I’m native American. He has never let it down since. He was really excited to have a “unique” friend, were not friends, were co workers. Hes been asking me questions about native culture ever since. He asked me what music i liked and when i told him drake and taylor swift, he laughed and told me to till him some “real” musicians. I assumed he meant native ones so i told him a native artist that my sister showed me( im not really into native American music) the next day at work,…
