Management from my old workplace always have standups and they had one where he expresses how much he appreciates us and that if this is not the job for us is to go or take them as they are. When I got to it, how much does he appreciates us? If we are let go or fired will this asshole help us out with connections so we can find a new job or will he help us apply until we find one? Does he only appreciates that we are working extra hard just to fill his pockets and if we get sick or hurt that he will be there to nurse us back to health? I can tell you that this asshole has done Jack shit other than hire us, inform us what he wants us to do but, hasn't done anything to show respect for his workers and himself…
Don’t give me this “competitive compensation” bs. It’s not worth the time. You tell me the range and I’ll tell you if it’s competitive. Not taking interviews where compensation is intentionally vague.
I'm frustrated and angry and bitter, and I just need that boost of dopamine. Tell me your best quitting story.
Advice on demanding higher pay?
If you check my previous posts you'll know that I get paid a measly $15 an hour to deal with being shit on and occasionally assaulted. It's pretty obvious to everyone that works there pay needs to increase, and it already has recently. It went from a pitiful $13 an hour to a slightly less pitiful $15 an hour, but that isn't enough, as evidenced by the lack of staffing at said work place. I've only been here a few weeks and I'm done, $15 an hour isn't enough for all the shit we have to deal with. So I've decided I'm gonna try to force some change before I leave. The idea I have is this, give admin an ultimatum: give everyone there $20 an hour or I walk. I mean, I can literally go make tacos for $13.50 an hour and the worst that happens is a disgruntled…
I’m being sidelined. What should I do?
Recently, my immediate senior and friend was promoted as our new Team leader. During our appraisal discussion, I clearly told him that I was expecting a promotion and I am not happy with my hike. I even told him I'm thinking if I should change my job. He asked me to stay for another six months and that he would get me a promotion during mid year appraisal. I wasnt convinced but I decided to stay. Now, they have hired 2 new people into the team and want me to transfer all my knowledge and work to these 2 new hires. He wants to push me into other division and start from ground level. He says it will give me exposure but I feel I'm being sidelined. What do I do? I can take an internal transfer and look for jobs within the company but I might become a target…
I saw it on insta, and I didn't link because I wasn't sure if that was cool. Middle aged women were crying over how managers from other stores would come to their store and chase females, trying to kiss them and asking them if they wanna play with their meat. I'm so glad to see anyone in fast food addressing this. I'm still waiting for Burger King to return my call from 2016 after a manager assaulted me at my home and told me he was going to have his way with me when we opened alone the next day. The manager above him told me to my face he hired me because I looked fun. All Burger King corporate might have done was the location closing within a year. I assume it was the decision of the franchise holder, whose phone number I was never given because no one…
From checking cars to washing cars
I’m not going to post some long winded thing, but still thought it would be fun to share. My last job had me working 80+ hours a week, with a newborn baby, no days off, and managing 3 security sites for a whopping $16/hour. After repeated requests to have them hire someone new and take 20-30 hours from me, I was told no and to suck it up. I put my notice in after I had just enough time to interview to be a car wash manager and receive an offer. She was livid and told me I would regret ever leaving, among many other nsfw words. Now, my boss appreciates me, I make more money, my drive to work has been cut in 3, and I’m actually involved in watching my son grow up. Always have a goal in mind and never settle for less.
Edit to title: About to go into work losing my job. Edit: Throwaway account for reasons. Work at Costco and I’m 100% sure I’m getting let go today. I’ve been suspended two times this year for attendance and once for tardiness (less than 10 minutes late three times). The last two got sent up to corporate to decide on my termination, and both times they vetoed it. Manager said I was on my “last shot, make it count.” Then went and changed my availability/off days so I had to work extra hard/longer than I’m used to, which led to me over exerting myself and getting sick. Our sick policy is decent, but if don’t have sick time you’re fucked. Had enough to cover half my shift on Monday, but Tuesday I still felt like shit and was supposed to work that day as well as Wednesday so I called off…
