I work as apprentice(work and school in the same time, don't know how it is called in the US) in this company for 3 years as IT engineer. More than 1 year ago all my colleagues (included my CIO) were fired and since I am the only one keeping the business up and running, basicaly doing the job of 3 people at once. I never complained, but the boss always praised me and told me I will be the CIO of this company at the end of the contract. I don't really believe this bullshit, and good for me, because he delayed my proposal (which they should make, I didn't ask) every 3 months for different reasons (time, schedule, etc). I can’t do the job I’m at anymore. Company culture is so toxic and even though the money is somewhat decent I have been suffering mentally for nine months. Resigning today and I will go and temp for a while. I feel nervous but relieved.

The Republican Party’s entire platform can be summed up in one way – to maximize the number of people in poverty. Their stances of anti-abortion, anti-LGBT rights, anti-education, anti-labor, anti-environmentalism, anti-healthcare… All of it drives people to poverty and ensures that they have minimal to no chance of escape. It’s abject cruelty for the sole purpose of enriching the few at the expense of the masses.

This place has gone from a place to organize work reform and commiserate, to a place openly calling for violence and death. This sub needs to ban calls for violence before you all convince some poor soul to hurt or kill someone else.

I didn’t see this brought up and if I missed it I apologize. I was wondering how many of you would mini farm or tiny farm. What are the reasons you aren’t doing it now? And what would your plan be if you had the opportunity? And I am talking about multiple levels of this it doesn’t just have to be enough food to feed your family, it could be enough food to feed your family as well as sell produce, livestock, products that come from livestock such as milk, eggs, poultry, beef or cottage food or whatever other items you could take “to market“. This also includes mushroom farming which apparently is a win for a lot of people. Also feel free to put your “mini plans“ about your “mini farms”.
