I’m planning to ask for a 25-50% raise

I’ve been at my current job for 9 months now. My job is a very niche job that requires a college education but also requires hard physical work, a cdl, and lots of travel. I accepted it because I graduated right before the pandemic and desperately needed something to get some type of experience. My starting wage was $20/hr with scheduled raises based on experience and competency and getting my cdl. I have not gotten my cdl yet but likely will shortly. I work 60+ hours a week, regularly spend 2-3 nights per week in a hotel on average, and have also put up with many safety violations that I’m working on forcing my boss to address. Since getting hired, all of my coworkers have quit for better opportunities, my boss got promoted and replaced with the biggest idiot ever created. My job has an extremely high turnover rate and…

I always wanted a job when I was a kid. When I turned 16, I got my first job as a pizza delivery driver. It was a hard job, only flip phones existed then. There was a 6 foot map of San Diego on the wall and you would trace out the roads and write down the directions. Driving while manically looking at every street sign. 34 now and have worked consistently since age 16.  I have held jobs such as Sea World, Bus Boy, School Bus Driver, Bus Taut, Barista Twice, Valet, Burger Cook, Car Insurance Agent, Final Expense Insurance Agent, Picture Frame Fabricator, Fine Artist, Auto Claims Adjuster, Motorcycle Dealership Vehicle Transporter, Term Life Insurance Broker, Über driver, AT&T Internet Installer, Pizza Delivery, and Oil Change Technician. The last three positions I've held were term life insurance broker, final expense life insurance agent, and automobile claims adjuster. The…

Redditors of r/antiwork, I need your help!

So a little back story. I work in production and have been at my current company for about 4 yrs now. All last year I fought tooth and nail to get better wages for my peers in my department. After a full year of putting up the fight against management, HR and even some of my peers I got all current employees a $6 raise and new hires starting pay raised by $5. Albeit, these numbers are much better than what they have been, but still barely livable. Onto my current situation. Throughout my tenor working here I have trained about 7 new hires on everything that the job requires. All of these were done with no extra pay and when I previously asked to be compensated for the extra work I was told that it was part of the job and I needed to be a team player. Low…
